Description:

Greenleaf Book Group is seeking a Jr. Blog Marketing/PR specialist to research, strategize and pitch book titles online to increase visibility for our clients.

 

Responsibilities:

-Works closely with marketing associates for assignment of quarterly book titles for blog pitching (fiction, biography, memoir, children’s, and non-fiction: business, health/wellness, social science, etc.). Approximately 22 books per quarter.

-Communicates with marketing associates on a weekly basis with regarding blogging strategy, pitch list, follow-up status and placement result reports.

-Performs blog research prior to developing blogging strategy to assess blog audience, traffic, content and influence.

-Builds and fosters long-term relationships with key bloggers through email/social media.

-Creates a customized and unique blogging pitch strategy and pitch list for each book title to get book reviews, excerpt postings, guest blog opportunities, etc. No press release distribution and no one-size-fits-all pitches!

-Ensures pitch list does not duplicate online efforts of author’s publicist.

-Adheres to online pitching policy- email, Twitter, Facebook- as necessary.

-Gets final creative approval from marketing associates on pitch lists.

-Manages schedules so blog pitching initiatives are in line with the book’s marketing campaign deadlines.

-Updates and maintains blog database in Filemaker.

 

Additional duties may include assistance with preparation of:

  • Banner ad copywriting
  • Client social media set-up

 

Requirements:

-At least 1 to 2 years experience in PR/marketing/social media field required.

-Proven blog-pitching experience with evidence of placements.

-Knowledge of blog research tools such as Technorati, Google Blog Search, Alltop, Blogs.com Alexa. BlogRank, etc.

-Strong PR, copywriting, social media and creative writing skills

-Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point).

-Excellent organization skills.

-Thinks outside the box.

-Results driven personality.

-Must have own computer/laptop.

 

Details:

Hourly, part-time position- 15 to 30 hours a week.

Greenleaf Book Group is looking for an experienced book sales expert to capitalize on our current market success and develop new strategies to help drive book sales in non-traditional (special) markets. This position is part-time with the ability to telecommute and the possibility to expand to full-time.

Competencies: The ideal candidate possesses:
2-3 years of prior experience in sales, with a minimum of 2 years selling to non-bookstore accounts including corporations, associations and other organizations
Demonstrated and measurable success in meeting sales revenue goals (preferably gained in a publishing environment)
Superior client and partner relationship management abilities
Highly motivated, independent, and personable with excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong creative and writing skills to design program strategy, messaging, and themes
Ability to take improvement input from company leaders and team members and turn it into new opportunities for the team and company
A relevant bachelor level degree or equivalent experience
